Cornerstone Schoolhouse has been supportive in all ways for my child's learning and well-being. My son and daughter both enjoy attending Cornerstone Schoolhouse. Over the past 2 years I have seen tremendous growth in many aspects, such as practical life skills, confidence, academics, and social relationships. Everyday Cornerstone provides a safe place for my children to be who they are and are guided to express themselves in a way that benefits them and those around them. I love when my children come home and talk about how much they feel like they belong, and the excitement they show when telling me what they explored at school that day. Whether that is how long different creatures are (measured by the children themselves), or building "epic creations" or making connections at the local library. The dedication and love that is poured into my children and their experiences each day is priceless. We are so glad to be part of this community. ~ T.H.
The Guides at Cornerstone Schoolhouse have helped build confidence within my children. They are not afraid to fail or try new things. At school they are excited to push themselves and learn new things. Since they are not traditionally tested or graded, they don’t compare themselves to their peers based on what they can do academically. Outside of school, they have the confidence to push themselves further in activities knowing that it is okay if they don’t succeed the first time. ~ J.G.
Our experience with Cornerstone for the past 3 years has been has been everything we expected and more. We have two daughters now enrolled in this school and from day one we've felt confident in our choice. The guides and staff at the school don't just act as that, they have quickly became an integral part of our family, fostering bonds long past the classroom. The school's nurturing environment and individualized approach to learning have truly brought out the best in our children. As important as school is when it comes to academics, we really wanted to focus on the many other important parts of life and learning in our kids foundation years. Things like practical life skills (problem solving, independence) creativity, empathy etc are all as equally important to us as academics and we find that Cornerstone focuses on and has the same values as that. The guides are so incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable & provide personalized attention and guidance to each child. They work hard to focus on each child as an individual and work so well with them on both their strengths and weaknesses. We're extremely grateful for the strong sense of community that is fostered by Cornerstone - where parents are so actively involved, it's truly a family. It's heartwarming to see our kids excited to go to school every day, they're eager to explore, learn and grow. We're so fortunate to have this alternative school opportunity in Huron County and can't recommend Cornerstone enough to anyone seeking Montessori education for their children. ~ J.G.
